Security – some simply don't get the point

I don’t know if i should be surprised, but what Boeing spokeswoman Lori Gunter gives to her best is just stupidity at it’s best. See this Wired article about security considerations in the 787 Dreamliner’s onboard network, which physically connects the passenger network for onboard internet access and the flight network for normal plane operations. Comment by her on this “the wording of the FAA document is misleading, and that the plane’s networks don’t completely connect“. Just one word, but it puts her whole sentence into total studpidity – completely.

  1. well, personally I think this is even worse: “There are places where the networks are not touching, and there are places where they are,” she said.

Yes, that’s usually called… connecting two networks, if they are some places where they’re not touching and in some places they are ;-)

  2. That’s the real web 2.0 *gg every passenger can control the plane, for example you’ve just decided to go somewhere else? just open the autopilot web interface on 192.168.0.1 and send the plane to the place you want to go :)
